Where do you put an elephant?
He doesn’t fit in the basement.
He won’t squeeze into the shed,
Mom wouldn’t like him in the bed.
An elephant wouldn’t stay in my bedroom,
And he’d look awful sad left in the cloakroom.
An animal like him wouldn’t find,
The confines of the sitting room awfully kind.
He’d stomp way too much to be left in the kitchen,
And crush my mom’s flowers if he’s left in the garden.
It seems I won’t get an elephant this year,
Maybe for Christmas I’ll get a reindeer.
playful and delightful piece.
